Garsington - The Rake's Progress (18:05 - June 19th, 2008) Stravinsky's operatic masterpiece received its first performance in Venice in 1951 and stands today as one of the great operas of the twentieth century. With an English libretto by W H Auden and Chester Kallman, the story is based on the vivid sequence of engravings by the eighteenth century artist William Hogarth.
